XM605
XM605 is one of three Vulcans preserved in the US. It was delivered in 1981 to Castle Air Museum and was put on outdoors display shortly after. It is unfortunately looking rather run down now, the nose gear oleo has collapsed so it has adopted a nose down attitude, the paintwork is faded and discoloured and the cockpit has suffered some water damage. There is some corrosion, but it shouldn't be anything threatening the aircraft's future just yet. The museum more than has its hands full with a B36, B52 and B58 also outside in need of attention before you start to consider the numerous smaller aircraft in its possession. Hopefully the Vulcan is somewhere on the list to be restored, but I wouldn't expect it any time soon.
