The Avro Vulcan is an aircraft that has captured the imagination of the British public in a way that few aircraft can claim to, Concorde and the Supermarine Spitfire are rightfully in this small set of aircraft along with the Vulcan. Right from the pure delta prototypes' first public appearances at the airshows of the early 1950s until XH558's final fight in 2015, Vulcans have been the star of British airshows, performing displays that seem to defy the laws of physics in such a large aircraft, even gaining some popularity overseas in the US.

Despite its popularity, there have been surprisingly few plastic Vulcan kits made and some variants are entirely lacking representation in scale. As with most plastic kits, they are not perfect and dependent upon the modeller's skill and desire to do so they can be significantly improved. In total there are seven plastic kits to choose from and a handful of alternate media options, availability ranges from vintage collectors' items to modern kits available in any good hobby shop or from an online retailer.

This website will act as the definitive guide to modelling the Avro Vulcan, I hope that this will help many modellers achieve a result they can be proud of, confident that they got it right. If you are a modeller who doesn't want to count rivets or pay attention to which blisters were on which airframes and you just want a Vulcan, there is content here for you as well. The most important thing to remember is that scale modelling is a hobby, the only rule there is is simply to enjoy it.
